Details and conditions of participation:
The competition takes place from 7 to 10 January 2010 at CES in Las Vegas on the Victorinox stand (stand number 35708, South Hall Las Vegas Convention Center) during the normal CES opening times:
Thursday, 7 January: 10:00 - 18:00
Friday, 8 January: 9:00 - 18:00
Saturday, 9 January: 9:00 - 18:00
Sunday, 10 January: 9:00 - 16:00
The competition will be monitored by an attorney throughout. Participants also give their consent to the presence of the press - throughout or in part - as well as to occasional filming.
The first person in the competition who demonstrably bypasses / nullifies / breaks into the security functions of the Victorinox Secure Stick in such a way as to access the data archived in the secure areas receives the prize amount of 100,000.00 USD. In this case the competition is deemed to be closed.
Naturally, the participant shall NOT be responsible if in the course of his attempts he triggers Victorinox Secure's internal self-destruct mechanism. In this case Victorinox will replace the stick and the participant can continue with his attempts for the remaining time available.
In the event of hardware failure during the competition, if possible the time slots thereby affected will be reallocated to the remaining available workstations; otherwise they will be deleted. Participants thereby affected shall have no recourse to any type of compensation.
We wish to point out that, in our opinion, it is not possible to bypass or break into the security functions of the Victorinox Secure and Victorinox Presentation Master products using current technology. For this reason we have not only decided to wish participants the best of luck but also to reward their efforts with a gift valued at over 100.00 USD!
There is no right to legal recourse.
